How we research and update this site.
DockDuty writes about a market that does not fully exist yet. The Cybercab is not delivered, our first depot is not built, and much of what gets published about robotaxi ownership is guesswork presented as fact. This page explains what we do to avoid adding to that, so you can judge our pages accordingly.
Who writes this
Articles are published under DockDuty Team unless a named founder byline appears on the page. The DockDuty Team byline means the piece was written and reviewed by the two co-founders, Jeremy Hecht and David Hecht, who are the only people producing content here.
We will not invent credentials. Neither founder is a lawyer, an accountant, an insurance broker, or a licensed financial adviser, and nothing on this site is legal, tax, insurance, or investment advice. Where a decision turns on any of those, we say so and tell you to talk to someone licensed in your state.
The four labels we use
Almost every mistake in this category comes from blurring these together. We keep them apart:
- Confirmed fact. Something a primary source states directly — a statute, a regulatory filing, an official operator page, a company's own investor materials. We link the source itself, not an article about it.
- Reported but unconfirmed. Credible reporting we have not been able to verify against a primary source. Labelled as reported, with the outlet named.
- DockDuty target or assumption. Our own plan or an input we chose for a model. A target is a thing we are working toward, not a thing that has happened. Our Greater Orlando launch is a target for Q4 2026 — the site, lease, permitting, and vehicle-delivery arrangement are not secured.
- Projection. Arithmetic on assumptions. Every earnings figure on this site is a projection, never a promise, and the assumptions behind it are shown so you can disagree with them.
Sourcing
- Factual claims link to the exact primary source — the specific statute section, filing, or official page — rather than naming it in passing.
- We prefer Tesla's own investor materials and filings, NHTSA, state statutes and regulatory agencies, and official operator pages over secondary coverage.
- Numbers that move (service areas, fleet counts, live stall counts) carry the date they were checked, so a stale number is visibly stale rather than quietly wrong.
- The robotaxi city map is published with its underlying data as CSV and JSON so anyone can check our work instead of taking it on trust.
What we will not publish
- Testimonials, case studies, press mentions, partnerships, or reviews that we cannot point at a real, named, permissioned source for.
- Earnings, utilization, or insurance figures presented as guaranteed.
- Any claim that DockDuty can sell, broker, allocate, or guarantee delivery of a Cybercab. Only Tesla sells the vehicle; the customer buys it and pays Tesla directly.
- Any suggestion that we are affiliated with Tesla, Inc. We are not.
- Attacks on competitors. We will describe what a category does and let readers compare.
Updating and corrections
Every article shows its original publication date and, where it has been revised, an updated date. We change the updated date only when the substance changes — fixing a typo is not an update, and we do not backdate or re-date pages to look fresh.
Pages covering fast-moving facts (service areas, regulation, delivery timing) are reviewed on a recurring schedule. When something we published turns out to be wrong, we correct the page rather than quietly deleting it, and we say what changed.
Found an error? Tell us at support@dockduty.com and point at the page. We would rather be corrected than be confidently wrong in public.
Disclosure
DockDuty sells depot reservations, so we are not a neutral party. Our commercial interest is in people reserving a stall. That is exactly why the labels above matter: read our projections as projections, check our sources, and treat any number we publish about our own future as a target rather than a result. Pricing and reservation terms are on the pricing section and in the reservation agreement itself.
If you would rather check our work than take our word for it: the owner dashboard runs publicly with no login, the founding order book publishes a live stall count, and the earnings calculator shows every assumption it uses. Questions or corrections: support@dockduty.com.
