What is a robotaxi depot?
A robotaxi depot is the fixed facility where a driverless fleet is parked, charged, cleaned, inspected and staged between rides. It is the ground layer under every service on the robotaxi map. This database lists the documented ones; the depot guide explains what happens inside and why power is the constraint.

Notes Figures of 30,000 sq ft, about 2.75 acres and about 120 parked robotaxis circulated in search summaries of a Business Insider tour (2026-02-17). The tour text, read via AOL syndication, gives none of those numbers; it says the depot "can service hundreds of robotaxis", has run for about five to six years, and is staffed by Transdev and other contractors. The numbers are therefore not used. SF supervisors denied Waymo a parking-lot permit at 301 Toland St on 2023-05-23 (SF Standard, 2023-10-30).

How this database is built
Inclusion criteria
- A physical site in the United States, tied to a named robotaxi or autonomous-fleet operator, that is documented by at least one public source we can link to: an operator statement, a permit or regulatory filing, a company release, a dated news report, or a dated field observation clearly labelled as such.
- Operating sites, sites under construction, announced or filed sites, and sites that were built or planned and then closed or withdrawn. A withdrawn plan stays in as “closed” because the history of where operators tried and failed is part of the map.
- Third-party charging sites are included only when a robotaxi operator is reported as a customer (Terawatt’s Inglewood site) or a fleet partner runs the site for one (Avomo, Flexdrive, Avis).
Definitions
- Depot
- A facility where a fleet is parked, charged, cleaned, inspected and staged between rides. The word the industry uses for the ground layer; the guide covers what goes on inside.
- Charging hub
- A site whose documented purpose is charging a fleet, such as Tesla’s filed Robotaxi-only Supercharger hubs. A hub may or may not also park or service vehicles; the row says what the filing says.
- Service center
- A maintenance and technical facility (Waymo’s Mesa Technical Service Center, Motional’s Las Vegas technical center) that may also house a fleet but is not described by its operator as a depot.
- Production plant
- Where vehicles are built or integrated (Zoox Hayward, Waymo’s Mesa integration plant). Included because these sites feed fleets directly and are often confused with depots; typed so they can be filtered out.
How status is assigned
- operating: a source dated within the last 18 months describes the site in use, or the operator serves the market from it today.
- under construction: the operator or partner has announced construction with a stated opening window that has not yet arrived.
- announced: a plan, filing or lease has been reported but no construction or use is documented.
- closed: the site is no longer a robotaxi facility, or the plan was withdrawn before construction.
- unknown: the site exists in the record but no source confirms its current use.
What is excluded
- Sites outside the United States.
- Facilities identified only by app coordinates, satellite imagery or an anonymous forum post with no dated public report.
- Figures that appear only in search-engine summaries of pages we could not open. Where that happened the field reads unknown and the notes say who reported the number and when.
- Estimates. If a source says “roughly 30-plus chargers” from a walk-by, that stays in the notes as a quote, not in the charging field as 30.
Verification standard
Each row records the date it was last verified and an evidence line saying whether the cited page was actually opened and read on that date, or only seen in a search listing. Numbers are copied from the source, not rounded, not converted, not inferred. When two sources disagree, the row carries the primary one and the notes name the other. A row nobody can source is not published.
What is not in here, and the known weak rows
Not in here: Waymo’s unnamed satellite lots beyond Los Angeles (the company runs “several unmarked depots” in the Bay Area alone and does not publish them), Tesla’s Florida and Texas operating sites other than the filings listed, Zoox’s Miami site, and the depots Uber’s partners will use in the Bay Area and Dallas. If you can source one, send it.
These rows are published on thin evidence and are flagged so a reader can weigh them:
- San Francisco depot (Toland Street, Bayview) (Waymo): Figures of 30,000 sq ft, about 2.75 acres and about 120 parked robotaxis circulated in search summaries of a Business Insider tour (2026-02-17). The tour text, read via AOL syndication, gives none of those numbers; it says the depot "can service hundreds of robotaxis", has run for about five to six years, and is staffed by Transdev and other contractors. The numbers are therefore not used. SF supervisors denied Waymo a parking-lot permit at 301 Toland St on 2023-05-23 (SF Standard, 2023-10-30).
- Atlanta depot (Avomo) (Waymo (fleet operations by Avomo for the Uber partnership)): Size: 99,990 sq ft reported by Natalie Lung (Bloomberg) on X, 2025-04-15, from coordinates in the Waymo app and an Avomo mock-up; a single reporter post, not independently corroborated, so the size field is unknown. Launch date and 65 sq mi service area from the Uber newsroom post. Vehicle count from avomo.com.
- Miami operational depot (Wynwood / Design District) (Waymo (fleet operations by Moove)): Podcast field observation by the host (Grayson Brulte), not a Waymo or Moove disclosure, and the page carries no date. He counted "roughly 30 plus" chargers and "roughly 20 plus" vehicles, with outdoor pods and no garage cover; those counts stay out of the numeric fields. Moove's Miami role (depots and charging): TechCrunch, 2024-12-05.
- Miami airport-adjacent depot (planned) (Waymo (fleet operations by Moove)): Same caveat: observer-sourced and undated. The host describes a very large lot awaiting construction and estimates it could hold around a thousand vehicles once built; that is an estimate, not a published figure. Status set to announced because no construction was under way at the time of the episode.
- Tampa Robotaxi operations site (reported lease) (Tesla): The article states, without attribution, that Tesla "has also leased an 11-acre site on North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa for Robotaxi operations". Disclosure: DockDuty is itself a planned depot operator (its own row is in the table, on the same evidence standard as everyone else), so it is not a neutral party in this market. The database reports what public sources say about every operator, including competitors, and nothing in it is a recommendation.
Why a depot company keeps this database. Every fleet on the robotaxi map runs on a depot somebody had to permit, power and staff. This table is where that layer is visible. Depot #1 for privately owned Cybercabs is targeted for Orlando in Q4 2026; the row above says exactly how far along it is.
