Every fee DockDuty charges, in one place.

Four numbers, and nothing hidden behind them: a refundable reservation deposit, a one-time onboarding fee, a monthly retainer per stall, and a percentage of ride revenue. This page lists all four, what each one buys, what it does not buy, and what happens to your money if we never open.

What you are actually paying for today

Where DockDuty stands · September 2026

No depot is open. No depot lease has been executed. No customer vehicle is in our care, and no customer vehicle has earned a dollar through DockDuty. The first depot is targeted for Orlando, Florida in Q4 2026, and a target is not a date we can promise.

So what the $450 buys today is a position — a reserved stall in the first depot, at the rate card published below, with a refund right you can exercise at any time before your vehicle is onboarded. It does not buy a service that is running. Nothing on this page is charged monthly until a vehicle is actually onboarded at an operating depot.

The four charges

ChargeWhenRefundable?
Reservation deposit — $450 per stall Once, at reservation Yes. At will, for any reason, no documentation, any time before your vehicle is onboarded.
Onboarding fee — $1,000 per vehicle, one time At intake inspection, when your vehicle actually arrives The $450 deposit is credited in full against it, leaving a $550 balance. The agreement caps onboarding at $1,000 per vehicle and the intake balance at $550.
Monthly retainer, per stall Monthly, once the vehicle is onboarded at an operating depot No — it pays for the month it covers. Month-to-month, no minimum term, no early-termination penalty.
Service fee, a percentage of ride revenue Taken from rides the vehicle actually completes No. If the car earns nothing, this is nothing.

There are no other mandatory fees. No application fee, no membership fee, no annual fee, and no early-termination penalty. The Exit and Transfer Policy asks for 30 days’ notice so dispatch routing, charging schedule and statements can be closed out; there is no charge attached to that notice, and transferring a stall position to another owner is processed at no cost during the pre-launch and founding phases.

The rate card, by fleet size

The live schedule is the Priority Owner rate card. Both numbers drop as the fleet grows.

Fleet sizeMonthly retainerService fee
1–2 cabs $550/mo per stall 15% per ride
3–4 cabs $525/mo per stall 15% per ride
5–6 cabs $500/mo per stall 14% per ride
7+ cabs $475/mo per stall 13% per ride

Reservation deposit $450 per stall, refundable at will until onboarding and credited in full against the one-time $1,000 onboarding fee, leaving a $550 balance due at intake. Figures generated from the same rate card the checkout charges from.

The retainer is charged per stall, so five cars is five retainers — the tier just sets the rate each one is charged at. Tiers are read from the number of vehicles you have enrolled, and a car that leaves moves you back down a tier at the next billing cycle.

What the retainer covers

The monthly retainer is the depot side of the operation — everything the car needs between rides that a driver would otherwise do:

What it does not cover

This list matters more than the one above it, and most operators do not publish it.

What can change, and what cannot

Those caps are in the reservation agreement, not in a marketing promise. Read it before you pay: the full text is linked from the order book and from our terms.

Refunds, exit and the deadline

Where the deposit money sits

Deposits are held in a segregated account maintained solely for owner reservation deposits, separate from DockDuty operating funds. That is a contractual commitment by DockDuty — it is not third-party escrow with an independent agent holding the money. If a competitor tells you their deposits are “in escrow”, ask them to name the agent.

Why you may see lower numbers elsewhere

The founding class — the first 50 stalls — closed on September 5, 2026 and is not available. It carried lower rates, and older pages, screenshots and third-party write-ups may still show them. The Priority Owner schedule above is the live offer. If a number you have seen does not match this page, this page is the current one.

Questions people actually ask

How much does a depot stall cost per month?

On the current Priority Owner schedule the monthly retainer is charged per stall and drops as the fleet grows, alongside a per-ride service fee that also drops. The exact figures are in the rate card above, generated from the same source the checkout uses, so the number on this page and the number you are charged cannot drift apart. Beyond the retainer and the service fee there are no other recurring fees.

Is the $450 deposit refundable?

Yes. It is refundable at will, for any reason, with no documentation required, at any time before your vehicle is onboarded. DockDuty initiates the refund within 5 business days; when it posts back to your card is the card network's timing rather than ours. If DockDuty announces it will not open any depot or ceases operations, outstanding deposits are refunded automatically within 30 days without you asking.

What does the $1,000 onboarding fee cover?

It is a one-time charge per vehicle, taken at intake inspection when the car actually arrives, and the $450 reservation deposit is credited in full against it, leaving a $550 balance. It covers bringing the vehicle into the depot: intake inspection, condition documentation, account and telemetry setup, and first staging. The agreement caps onboarding at $1,000 per vehicle and caps the intake balance at $550.

Is charging included, or billed on top?

Charging electricity is included in the monthly retainer, with no markup on energy. DockDuty does not resell power at a margin. What is not included is anything done to the vehicle itself: parts, repairs, tyres and body work are coordinated by DockDuty and billed to the owner.

Can DockDuty raise the price after I sign?

The retainer may be raised only by CPI-U, only once per calendar year, only on 60 days' written notice, and never before the owner's first anniversary. The per-ride percentage cannot be raised at all while a vehicle is enrolled. Those limits are terms of the reservation agreement rather than a marketing promise.

Am I being charged monthly right now?

No. No depot is open, and the monthly retainer does not begin until a vehicle is actually onboarded at an operating depot. Today the only amount charged is the $450 reservation deposit, which holds a stall and remains refundable at will until onboarding.

Who holds the title to my car?

You do, at all times. Nothing in the agreement transfers any ownership interest in any vehicle to DockDuty. The arrangement is month-to-month with no minimum term and no early-termination penalty, so you can remove the vehicle and take it with you, giving 30 days’ notice so the car can be wound out of dispatch and the statements closed.

Is DockDuty affiliated with Tesla?

No. DockDuty is an independent company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Tesla, Inc. “Tesla” and “Cybercab” are trademarks of Tesla, Inc., used for descriptive reference only. DockDuty holds no Tesla vehicle allocation, no enrollment right and no commercial agreement of any kind with Tesla, and claims none.
